The Spec
A full excavation was required and carried out before a new permeable suds-compliant base was installed. This included a geotextile non-woven membrane, type 3 reduced fines limestone sub base and open textured tarmac base.
We also added a lovely granite stone block border at the entrance and around the perimeter to add contrast against the resin-bound surface.
An added benefit of our resin-bound stone is that it is permeable, allowing water to drain through it naturally. Making it fully compliant with SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems) meaning no planning permission is required.
Our Service
The driveway was finished off with our UVR stable resin binder in a blend made up from grey Spanish marble chippings called blue lagoon which won’t fade in sunlight and requires very little maintenance year-round.
Resin bound systems are created by mixing natural stones with a resin binder, hand troweled to a smooth finish with no loose stones. The hard-wearing finish is both solvent and weed free. Very low maintenance!
